2020 Remco Pool of the Year Award Winner - Out from the Blue Sponsor Out from the Blue have again surpassed all expectations with this magnificent award winning build that has won 2020 Remco Pool of the Year. The sunken fire-pit lounge area adjacent to the pool has been carefully designed so that you feel almost submerged when you are seated within. This is enhanced by the two clear acrylic panels in to the pool which are extended across two sides of the pit. The plumbed gas fire in the centre of the pit area brings another element to the scheme. The boundary wall nearby is clad in rusting corten steel, which is reminiscent of the earthy desert tones of Central Australia: this combination of earth, water and fire together is truly mesmerising. The tiling in this pool & spa incorporates a beautiful Italian glass mosaic blend of blue and black tiles to create interest and playfulness within the pool. Along one side of the pool, a steel edge right on top of the pool shell holds back the green lawn. This means that the blue pool water meets directly with the lush green of the grass, with no stone coping between, a detail that is very rarely seen. Though physically connected via an overflow tunnel and the pool shell beneath, the pool and spa appear to be separated due to the continuous insitu concrete paving above. This is further enhanced due to the spa being partially enclosed in its own room and with a roof overhead. This subtle positioning helps to create different useable spaces, or ‘rooms’ in the body of the pool. This pool & spa combination is positioned up against the main living area of the family home & outdoor dining area for maximum visual impact.
