Members attention is drawn to recent correspondence regarding police
checks on all new applications for registration as a building
practitioner in Victoria.
Please see attached recent advice from the Victorian Building Practitioners Board.
All
new applicants will now be compelled to consent to the checks to enable the BPB
to verify convictions, particularly those relating to violence, theft and fraud
- serious penalties exist for those that do not fully disclose.
