The VBA's Proactive Inspections team conducted its first building site visits in regional Victoria in mid-March, visiting 34 sites in Horsham, Castlemaine, Swan Hill, Mildura and Bendigo.

David Wolf, Director, Enquiries & Dispute Resolution said the Proactive Inspections Program involved VBA building and plumbing inspectors visiting sites to engage with the Relevant Building Surveyor (RBS), builder and plumbers to address any issues early in a project's life.

"Building and plumbing work occurs throughout Victoria so it is important the VBA program has a statewide reach," Mr Wolf said. "As this four day visit showed, there is plenty of building and plumbing work going on in regional Victoria and practitioners welcomed the Proactive Inspections team members on their sites."

The team's next regional visit will be to the Latrobe Valley, in April.
