As highlighted in the January Bulletin, both the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) & Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) have commenced a new regime of building site inspections.
 
As with any new practice, there may be some teething issues and refinements to make along the way. However one thing is abundantly clear, this initiative provides State Government regulators the right to gain access to your site and ensure full compliance of contractual, registration and regulation obligations.

The CAV and VBA inspectors will review the site to determine if the builder has the correct insurance, foundation data, deposit, progress claims, and details of warranties - so we ask that members take the appropriate steps in ensuring their work is compliant.
 
SPASA members are advised that an inspection could take place without warning.
