What does your business offer?

I have often thought of our services as ‘Architecture for outdoor living’. As qualified and experienced landscape architects we provide the full service from planting designs and all the structural elements including; levels and paving, retaining walls, integrated pool design, pergolas and outdoor rooms. This is followed up with construction management and ongoing garden maintenance.

What are the most exciting & challenging parts of your business?

The most exciting part has always been seeing the finished gardens and the joy it brings to the clients. Whilst the most challenging part is balancing the business elements with the hours required for creative design.

What’s a typical day in your world?
Morning site visits to current projects. Then back to the office to wade through all the emails. Drink too much coffee! Tell the clients it’s under control. Avoid envelopes with windows. Pull a few rabbits out of the hat and hopefully look back seeing something went right.

What’s something you’ve always wanted to do?
Build a rammed earth house into the side of a hill with a green roof over, surrounded by terraces flowing out into a garden that’s just for me. With a pool of course!

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My mother Anne Clapham who was a renowned landscape designer here in Melbourne.

Bonus question... Boardies or Budgies??
My 9 year old daughter thinks budgies look like little girls undies and doesn’t think I should wear them. I’m a boardie kind of guy.
